Caption:Moments of Small Thrill. I should have offloaded the day’s gear before attempting this, but the water was about 2 feet deep there, so I could save the boat if I got sideways to a point of turning over. I had a protective deeper boundary outside this surf line, and farther out the ocean swells were breaking again, so watch yourself and use leg bracing straps. Great place for anyone with kayak wave riding experience, the north end of the beach at Tubb's is much better for you folks. Note the surf conditions. On beach, there was a strong crossing undertow toward the pass, so go down beach 100+ yds to play without hassles standing up. Surf was not good for boogie boarding but great for fiddling around with your kayak in shallows for low key types like us. Experts can have the bigger waves. The south end at Little River is better for boogie boarding types.
