 10. -  Family Redfish Kayak Action in NC :

While my wife caught her first two redfish I maintained my psyche and enthusiasm about her good fortune. But by the third, I was starting to feel that familiar feeling all anglers get as they watch someone slay'em.

9. - Kiptopeke State Park is a Gem :

Kiptopeke State Park is a true jewel of the Virginia State Parks system and a beautiful spot to visit on the Eastern Shore. Plan your next trip and keep Kiptopeke in mind.

As we packed up on the last day our youngest, at 3 yrs old, asked if we could camp across the world. She wants to travel and explore. I'm down, because it's in the exploration and new experiences of travel, that we grow as people. - Read More

6. ICAST Review, Bonafide Kayaks :

ICAST is touted as the world's largest sport fishing tradeshow, and for the last few years has been hosted in Orlando, FL. It is a giant parade of awesome new products. Kayak fishing has increasingly become a bigger part of the show. There are a great many articles, videos, etc that come out around the show. This is my first re-cap of the days I spent on the floor and on the water at ICAST.

This is what caught my eye, and kept my attention on Day 1 during the Demo. Bonafide Kayaks, fishing kayaks. - Read More

5. The Ocean Kayak Malibu Pedal :

Ocean Kayak debuted the Malibu Pedal at ICAST 2017 this summer, and we got an early look at the kayak. Everyone was excited about the prospect of a Pedal kayak, not geared specifically to anglers. Now you could easily outfit it for serious angling, and no doubt people will, but this was originally intended to entice families and recreational paddlers to the Pedal market. It has 3 cup holders! If that doesn't say "family" I'm not sure what does. - Read More

3. Camping and Canoeing in a Virginia State Park :

As we paddled hard into the rain, we passed some of the old time, shallow draft cargo boats rolling down the river for the annual Batteau Festival. The rain pattering on our heads my 3 year old, sitting between my legs, giggled and playfully admonished the sky to stop raining.

Our 5 year old called back, "This is the best vacation ever!"

And as another batteau floated by I heard the helmsman tell his shipmate, "Those girls get it. The river is good." - Read More

This is the Friday's Finds, where we seek to highlight some of the paddlers who call Virginia home. PaddleVa is about all of us.
