2019 11th Annual YakAttack Benefit Tournament
Burkeville, Virginia - The 2019 11th Annual YakAttack Benefit Tournament will take place May
17-18 and will be headquartered at the Cedar Crest Conference Center at Twin Lakes State Park
in Green Bay, Virginia; same location as previous years. Registration for the event will open on
January 13th, 2019 at 7:00 pm EST and will be capped at 200 entries. For anglers who have
participated in the event for five or more times or those who won a division at the 2018 event,
those individuals will receive 24 hour early access to registration. Last year, the event sold out
within three hours after general registration opened.
177 anglers participated in the 2018 event and over $22,000 was raised for Heroes on the Water
and Project Healing Waters. For YakAttack, the main focus of the event is raising funds for the
benefiting organizations. While there are no prizes to be won aside from bragging rights and a
trophy, there is a benefit raffle. For more information about the event, rules, and registration visit
the YakAttack website at www.YakAttack.us.
Here is a brief description about the benefiting organizations:

therapeutic properties of kayak fishing. Heroes on the Water provides basic kayak fishing and
paddling instruction, angling clinics, and paddling classes for participants of all skill sets.
Project Healing Waters - Since its conception in 2005, Project Healing Waters has grown into a
nationwide program with local chapters located across the country. Project Healing Waters Fly
Fishing, Inc. is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military
service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including
